Sonnetsday 36

XXXIII.

FULL many a glorious morning have I seen
      Flatter the mountain-tops with sovereign eye,
  Kissing with golden face the meadows green,
Gilding pale streams with heavenly alchemy;
Anon permit the basest clouds to ride
With ugly rack on his celestial face
And from the forlorn world his visage hide,
Stealing unseen to west with this disgrace.
Even so my sun one early morn did shine,
With all-triumphant splendour on my brow;
But out, alack! he was but one hour mine,
The region cloud hath mask'd him from me now.
      Yet him for this my love no whit disdaineth;
      Suns of the world may stain when heaven's sun staineth.

Just finished reading everything on your blog, and getting caught up since I haven't had the chance in a while. I noticed people weren't leaving as many messages on your sonnets, and we can't have that so I decided to leave 2 ;) Oh, and btw, your little map is entirely creepy do to the fact, I can find the exact location of my house and it is incredibly easy to find, Also it's pretty much marked on the map, haha. Anyway, I'll tty soon hopefully.

{{{HuggleGalka}}} Yeah sorry I've been really busy this week. I'll be on more next week. Thanks for tracking me down. And you're right, too, folks rarely comment on the sonnets, but that's okay. Thanks for breaking that trend. :) Really? The map is so precise? Wicked!

I've also noticed that, too. But when I read a sonnet my reactions are EITHER a)should I reveal I do not understand it? my English must be falling again behind my standards... OR b)should I comment just to say 'wow, that was nice/thrilling/enlightening/etc.' why make such a nondescript comment on a precious poem like this?

I know what you mean - there's little one can say as a follow-up to Shakespeare. And your English is just fine SF; Shakespeare can be tough on native speakers too.
